The first rays of sunlight penetrate through my window and let the cheerful bird songs in the fresh morning air reach me. Can I really believe that here in Poland I spent my night in such a luxurious tent? Glamping, a glamorous camping, has allowed me to take my camping experience to a new dimension. Antiques, a wood-burning stove, and a private bathroom are all part of my accommodations. Can it be more beautiful? I watch as the first day of the vacation dawns and gaze expectantly at the 4:45 a.m. dawn. What will it be like?

Glendoria: luxury in the middle of nature

The "Glendoria" is located near the small Polish town of Lukta in Warmia-Masuria, surrounded by stunning scenery just an hour from Gdansk. While it took a little time for the driver to find the secluded property, the effort was definitely worth it. The owners, Artur and Kristina, are passionate sailors and former managers from Warsaw. They have designed the 50-acre site with a keen sense of design. The tents are far enough away from each other so that neighbors are not disturbed and the view of nature remains undisturbed.

The 10-man tents of the Bundeswehr are so big that even I, with my 1.92 meters height, can stand comfortably inside.

The lounge of the resort: a lovingly decorated barn

In the "center" of the resort there is a 300 square meter barn, quasi the lounge of the resort, which was very lovingly decorated with many things from all over the world. Here you will find, for example, an old espresso machine from Italy or a bronze eagle. There is also a small library, an old wood-turning machine and various old armchairs where you can relax in comfort.

Luxury tents and thematically decorated rooms

In addition to the luxury tents, which were purchased from the stocks of the German Armed Forces, the resort still has some rooms in the annex of the stable. All rooms are dedicated to their own theme and are also very lovingly decorated. Thus, the Glendoria offers its guests an unforgettable stay in the midst of an idyllic landscape.

A short but luxurious stay in nature

Unfortunately, I only spend two nights at this wonderful place. The time is far too short to explore all the loving details that the two owners have come up with. Special highlights are the small pool overlooking nature, the freshly built open-air Jacuzzi and the new massage house. The latter has only a roof, so you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the meadow and the forest. Patient visitors may even spot a stork or two wading through the fields here. In Warmia-Masuria, these majestic birds are not rare.

Adventurous overnight stay in luxury tent

The first night in the tent proves to be an adventurous experience, especially for those who don't normally spend vacations at the campsite. Thanks to the moonlight, I effortlessly find my way from the lounge to the accommodation. Entering the tent is done through a door, which eliminates the typical zipper noise - another indication of luxury camping.

Mosquito net for undisturbed sleep

The 10-man tents of the Bundeswehr are so big that even I with my 1.92 meters height can stand comfortably inside. Of course, some insects like mosquitoes, wasps or flies accumulate in the tent. But even for this circumstance was taken care of: The spacious double bed is covered with a mosquito net, so you can enjoy a restful sleep despite the little pests.

Fatigue wins

If only I could not be so tired now after the long journey... A little energy to light the stove in the tent would come in handy now. The wind brushes the fabric walls and it almost seems as if it wants to send me into the land of dreams. But the unfamiliar noises of the falling night contribute their part to it. In addition, there are the strange sounds of the wild animals. But finally fatigue wins and I fall asleep in the fresh, cold air. A glance at the clock before I fall asleep - it is just after 9 pm. This is how people must have felt in the past, whose lives were determined by the orbits of the sun. And so it shall be with me - at 4:45 a.m. I awake to the loud chirping of birds right above my nose. Did I spend a quiet night and sleep well? Or did I just imagine it?

Glamping: nature as entertainment

Those who go glamping can gladly do without the TV in the room. The view of nature compensates for everything. I sit down on my small terrace in front of the tent and enjoy the peace and the beautiful atmosphere in the early morning.

Clouds of fog drift across the meadows, a dog barks in the distance, and two storks - only 20 meters away from me - are searching for food. Horses run past me. These idyllic moments make the glamping experience extra special and make me appreciate the simplicity and beauty of nature even more.
