Ceremonial naming of the "SH Diana": Swan Hellenic presents new expedition cruiser

Following the christening of the "SH Diana", the shipping company Swan Hellenic is setting sail with the third 5-star ship in just 16 months with the world's most modern fleet. The three ships have one special feature in common: they are deliberately smaller in size than newbuildings from other shipping companies and at the same time feature advanced hybrid propulsion technologies that enable voyages in ecologically sensitive areas. These include not only expedition cruises to the polar regions of the Arctic and Antarctic, but also worldwide routes that only appear extremely rarely on sailing schedules.

The "SH Diana" can accommodate just 192 guests (141 crew members) and is nevertheless the largest ship in the fleet. Her sister ships, the "SH Vega" and "SH Minerva," each take a maximum of 152 guests on their expedition voyages. The "SH Diana" can travel completely self-sufficiently for up to 40 days or 8,000 nautical miles and has the high ice class PC 6.

After the ceremonial christening by American luxury travel visionary Valerie Ann Wilson, the "SH Diana" sets course for the Arctic. At the same time, thisfirst voyage marks the beginning of a new partnership: the renowned chefs of the international gourmet association JRE-Jeunes Restaurants will set new culinary standards on board in the future with daily "Maris" menus. In addition, the accompanying chefs will offer guided gastronomic shore excursions, lectures and cooking shows on board during the newbuildings' worldwide expeditions.

The "SH Diana" is an impressive ship built in 2023. She was built by the renowned Helsinki Shipyard and was ceremonially christened by Valerie Ann Wilson. Sailing under the flag of Panama, this ship has a gross tonnage (GT) of 12,100 tons.

The "SH Diana" stretches over a length of 125 meters and is 23 meters wide. With a maximum draft of 5.45 meters, she can reach a speed of 14.5 knots, although in ideal conditions she can even manage up to 15.5 knots. Her autonomous range is an impressive 40 days, equivalent to 8,000 miles.

This ship is especially designed for its ice class PC6, which allows it to navigate even in icy waters. There are a total of 96 cabins on board SH Diana, including 10 luxurious suites on decks 5 and 6 and 20 outside cabins on deck 4. There are no inside cabins on this ship, which gives passengers a unique feeling of space.

The "SH Diana" can accommodate up to 192 passengers and is staffed by a dedicated crew of 141 who will take care of the guests' well-being and ensure an unforgettable travel experience.
